MTH operating flag

I had one a long time ago and first time out of the box it smoked on me and died!  Never did see on in action.  🇺🇸

I have and use this accessories since purchased new. Flag is starting to fray, but still works as when purchased.

Are you referring to the Rail King 30-9103?

Mine is still operating.  It's operated with a momentary switch.

Mine still works. 

Kids operate from a button on the facia during open houses.

Its seen plenty of use over the years.

At our layout  the flag is operated by the children it has been in great operating shape for years after we put it on DC instead of AC

I understand that MTH bought the design from long-time Lionel Corp. inventor, Frank Petitt.  The then-operators of Lionel (LTI?) had rejected the idea, I seem to recall hearing.    The MTH product finder dates them to 1997.    30-9103
