I want to take the shell off and gain access to the interior to paint and add people. I don't remember how I did it last time. From the instructions it looks like the shell just snaps off some way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If I remember correctly; it doesn't snap off. The top and the shell sides are one piece. Take the screws out of the bottom and pull the top off the base.
