mth parts question. and paint match question.

when searching for an engine part on on the mth web sight it states that only certain parts are kept in stock. I have a new UP sd70 spirit of America 1943. the fuel tank has a long scratch in the paint down one side. I emailed midge about this issue. hope I can just swap out the scratched fuel tank with a new one. waiting on a reply back by probably next week with the holidays and all.

I have two questions first one is. are fuel tanks for mth engines avilable as parts for seperate sale? number two is if I can not get a new fuel tank from mth. what paint would best match this engines fuel tank?

btw I looked this engine up on the mth web sight. I went under service and order parts. it does not come up. probably because it is so new they haven't had time to do an exploded parts diagram and list on this engine yet for the websight. thanks roger.

When you get your new fuel tank it shoudl come painted in the color for the locomotive. If its not available, they have been known to order the part from China for you but be prepared to wait for it. M<idge is good and she will take care of you but you may have to be patient.

thanks Matt. I can wait as long as needed. I would have  just settled it myself and painted the scratch on the tank but this color seams it would be hard one  to match right. so I will ask midge for a replacement and send in the scratched one. plus this engine was just purchased new and it came that way. so I see know reson why she can't make a replacement swap under the warrenty. this is one beautifull engine and the pfa's are a real winner this time. I am glad I got it minus the scratch of course.
