Hi guys,
I just joined the group and was looking for some help. I just picked up a MTH dummy switcher SW-1500 series and wanted to add front and rear lights, is there a good source for pickup rollers and insulator boxes that recess in trucks with out breaking the bank? I would need 2 rollers and 2 insulators, 2 screws and 2 nuts. possibly both light brackets if they are reasonable. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

You need to purchase the 4 wheeled lighting kit 50_1025. It has all the hardware you need to add roller pick ups. It is your option if you want to add the lights. I don't add the lights in the kits as I use LED lights from model train software.
I just put the rollers on and roll my own for the interior, no need for a lot of the stuff they offer. I also like to add light switches, when I do these upgrades for other folks, I typically add a switch to switch forward & reverse lights, separate cab light control if there's cab figures, and an overall master switch to kill all the lights.
Thanks for the reply, Is there a good part number for the correct rollers and insulators that are recessed in the trucks or is that all included in the 50_1025 kit? I have to assume they are the same as powered switchers. as always the parts persons phone at MTH goes straight to voice mail.

The kit has all the parts needed for the pickups. I get mine from MB Kline at Modeltrainstuff.com. It's pretty easy to find uses for the extra stuff you get with it.
