Electric Trains has shipped two exclusive and uncataloged Premier O Scale 36' Woodsided Beer Reefers in Piel's and Schaeffer liveries for the NJ Hi-Railers Model Railroad Club. Available in limited quantities, each scheme is available in two individually numbered cars and mark another in a long line of M.T.H. offerings by the NJ Hi-Railers.

Before the iron horse connected every town of any importance to the outside world, most food was grown or produced locally. The arrival of cheap, fast, refrigerated transport — in the form of the woodsided reefer with ice bunkers at each end — enabled local brewers, dairies, meat processors, and other food businesses to become players on a national scale. Until 1934, shippers could advertise their wares on leased billboard reefers, each a hand-painted traveling work of art. That year, the Interstate Commerce Commission outlawed the flamboyant paint schemes because the cars often hauled shipments from other companies — whose freight bills thus unfairly paid to advertise the lessee’s products. M.T.H. Electric Trains will be releasing several limited-edition releases of RailKing ES44 Diesel/Caboose Sets later this Fall beginning this week with the unveiling of the popular General Electric GEVO scheme. The 2022 configuration features a matching RailKing Steel Caboose sporting car number 2022. In addition, a matching RailKing Boxcar with Operating Power Meters is also being offered. The Power Meter car will go great with this year's offerings or previous runs of the RailKing GEVO scheme which first began appearing in the M.T.H. RailKing lineup in 2013.
