The shop that did some warranty work reset my MTH Premier AC4400 2-rail loco and when I power up my DCS Commander it doesn't have the loco in it's address anymore. It's my only loco and it was address #2. The address on the Commander is now blank.

I tried using "Add" but I get an "ER" message. At first the loco "clicked" when I selected DCS but now it doesn't even do that. I've turned the power completely off to the Commander a few times but no use.

Barry and others you guys are great. I did buy the book but could still use some guidance?

Thanks!

Chuck

If not, You can try a Factory Reset.

The only option I have on the DCS Commander is a Reset button. When I follow Barry's book it only shows a flashing "System" and nothing else on the LCD weh I push and hold this button.

I'm hoping I don't need the full DCS to get this loco running again?

Thanks!

It's not working in conventional either. The shop just sent it back to me and they said it ran perfectly there.

Not much I can do wrong with the DCS Commander right? The track has voltage and I've followed all instructions...

This is not the remote commander, he has the DCS Commander which has DCS and DC power out.   So he can add engines with addresses.

If the engine is not running in conventional, and no relay click...something is wrong with engine.  I would go back to the shop and ask what they did, and show that it runs in conventional and on DCS on there layout.  G

OK, noticed no one asked this:

Take a volt meter or a lighted car, place on the track.

See if you are getting power to the rails.

It is possible something got disconnected while the engine was away for repair.

That would give the no click, no response symptom.

Also, the shop may have set it to 3 rail for testing, make sure the switches are set to 2 rail and DCS (not DCC)(assuming PS3 there)

I told him to check his switches.

John, It sounds like something changed as it is not being recognized by DCS Commander, he gets an error message, and now the engine doesn't even click the relay or operate in conventional.

If the switches are in correct positions and the power is available for the rails, not sure why the engine won't run unless there is a problem with the engine.  G
