If you did add ditch light you would need to find a sound file of an engine that has the ditch lights   The sound file controls all the soft keys and functions  I would look to see if you can match an engine that would be close before you spend the money

I can point you to the brass details for the ditch lights but like ben stated above, you need to electronically controll them unless you want them constantly flashing or just on.

Modernly, you may not need to worry about flashing the ditch lights -- just turning them on/off. On a lot of locomotives, particularly freight, the ditch lights stay lit when the horn/bell is in operation. Out here, right now it looks like Metrolink (commuter) and Amtrak (passenger/commuter) are the only ones flashing the ditch lights. UP and BNSF don't flash them any more.

A lot of earlier diesels were retrofitted with ditch lights -- often on both ends. I've even seen a GP9 with them.

I didn't lose any sleep over the lack of ditch lights! I was just trying to learn something. I've learned not to ask a question about my recent purchase Whew-ee! Thanks anyway
