MTH PS2 Premier 0-8-0 no longer "puffs" but still smokes fine??? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi guys, I have a PS2 locomotive #20-3233-1

Everything is working fine, except that it no longer "puffs" smoke at slow speed like it used to. If I open her up to say 20 mph, the smoke is strong and looks good. At idle the smoke also looks good. However, running at slow speed say 6-12mph, the smoke no longer puffs, but just slowley streams out.

Suggestions appreciated.

Yep, replace the impeller in the smoke unit, it's most likely slipping on the shaft. As a temporary fix, you can put a spot of CA adhesive on it, but I haven't found that to be a permanent repair.
