i have a MTH PS2 Switcher that cuts out on switches about 50% of the time, then restarts after passing through nor does it trip a 7.5 amp in-line fuses between the transformer and track. I use both PW ZW &KW transformers with  Lionel 027 track and 042 remote control switches. The transformers have been phased. i have cleaned the switche track m, insulated the sides of the movable track plate so the rollers and wheels don’t make the occasional contact with each each other. Occasional sparking occurs but does not cause the engine to reset, cut out or trip the in-line fuses. Any comments welcomed.

thank you

jim

If you have an Ohm meter, measure the resistance between the pickups on both trucks.  Likewise, measure the resistance between the front and rear wheelsets without traction tires.  Both should be close to zero.  If the wheelsets have high resistance, check if they are dirty.  If not, the black oxide coating attaching the ground wire may be causing high resistance.  I just knock the coating off under the screw head with a jewelers file.
