Do all PS3 engines have rule 17?  My South Shore MU cars have a very bright head light that does not dim when the motion stops.  Is there a way to control the head light with the remote or is it only controlled by motion?  Compared to PS2 South Shore MU there is a big difference in the brightness/

If so, I'd bet that the FET that controls the headlight has failed open and is letting track voltage straight through to the bulb.

The failure would be shorted if the bulb stays on, but I think it would toast the LED as I'm pretty sure it's a pulsed power to give the LED the proper average current.

The engine lighting is constant voltage LED for PS-3.  The passenger cars are track power and may not be as intense as the engine.

I am not sure all RK have rule 17.  I would ask MTH only they would know the specifics of that model sound file.  G
