I am interested in a Railking ABA set but is was wondering since that only the lead A unit is powered and the unpowered units are some what heavy can it pull a five or six car passenger set without struggling.

I had one - a PS2 Western Maryland ABA. I've since sold it.
My version, with all traction tires, would slip and stall with about 4 Railking freight cars. A friend of mine bought the exact same set and his will walk away with 20+ cars easily.
I'd say your mileage may vary!
Are there any grades? On level track it is no problem.
I have an ABA Norfolk Southern OCS set that pulled 25 cars with no problem at our last club's open house, with very little problem. The layout does have grade, and it could handle it.
Now that I think about it, My F3 had no issue pulling MTH Plastic Premier passenger cars on grades. It did struggle with an 8 car Williams scale length streamliners.
The Rail King Santa Fe A+A set on my railroad is a good puller, and only one of the engines has a motor.
I've got three different MTH Railking A-B-A sets; PRR, C&O and DL&W. None of the three have any issues pulling a decent size freight train.

I have a PS-3 NYC F-3 and pull 4 15" aluminum cars with no problem.
I also have Premier PS-1 Santa Fe F-3s early model with only 2 motors and pull 8 extruded aluminum 15" cars with no problem.
