Hi everyone. Hope all are safe and healthy and enjoying your hobby.

i am working on some back burner projects and came to my railking imperial 30-1547-1 2010 2-8-8-2. The rear motor with the tach on it is just about dead. Anyone know a part number for this? The motor was loose in the loco when I got it. Is there a motor mount or does it just bolt to the bogie? I’m sure Mth parts is closed but if I can get a number maybe I can find one elsewhere.

First - is the motor mounted vertically?  or on a metal bracket at an angle?

If vertical, look at the label on the side of the motor body - it gives  a motor type (RS365 example).  Next you need the diameter of the flywheel.  Then measure the total length of the worm gear, diameter of the worm gear, and length of the gear threads.  CAUTION - ALL dimensions are metric, in mm.

Go to the MTH web site, service, order parts.  Type in the locomotive product number, below it enter motor and search for the motor.
