I recently purchased a new, very nice looking GP7 (30-20651-1). When running at slow speeds, it makes a sound that has me wondering if everything is ok. Please take a listen and tell me what you think.

Hmmm,I'm not a rervivice qualified guy but never heard that sound before. Almost sounds like it's snoring. I gather that it is a PS3 since you say it's new. What are you using for track power?
Power is from Lionel 72 Watt supply connected to DCS Remote Commander.
IN the literature for your new loco, near the back pages, should be a list of transformers that "play nice" with MTH stuff. If you don't see yours on that list it could be the reason. Something to do with sine waves and such. I have a KW but I only use the Z1000 from MTH to power the PS locos. Hope it turns out to be OK for you,
