New MTH Imperial 30-1565-1 just arrived today from Paul Johnson at Catoctin Mountain Trains in Thurmont MD.  First impression is gorgeous locomotive with great sound and incredible amounts of smoke.  Distance between cab and tender is a little large but other than that quite nice.

Having grown up in Bethlehem, PA I got to see the 2101 in AFT colors in Bethlehem in 1976, then I saw it transitioned to Chessie Colors in the Saucon Creek Roundhouse.  I was in Reading when the 2102 came home and rode behind many ramble runs to Jim Thorpe and back.  Also visited the 2100 in Hagerstown Maryland during restoration in 1987. The T-1's have a special place in my heart. Additionally, I am only about an hour and a half from Steamtown, have made many visits to photpgraph 2124.

<<Jim - Don't know if you saw my post regarding this exact steamer earlier today.    I am having problems with it derailing going into O-31 curves.    Length of my drawbar may be a factor.   Could I impose upon you to measure the length of your drawbar?

Thanks,   Jim near Harrisburg>>

JB - Just a hair longer than 2 & 1/2 inches.  I ran it on 36" for about 20 minutes to break in without a problem.  Hopes this helps.
