MTH Realtrax 031 Switch won't power up

One of my Realtrax switches will no longer power up. The lamp light does not come on and the activation lever has no effect. The controller light however does light. I tried the switch motor in a different switch and it worked perfectly. If anyone knows or has an idea what the problem is I would appreciate it very much. It is an older solid rail switch.

It could be the little gadget that allows you to use track or independent voltage has come loose.
