MTH RK passenger coach lighting | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a MTH RK 30-67683 passenger car set. The bulbs create too much heat and are starting to deform the plastic bulbs and sockets. I have gotten MTH to replacement one care roof which deformed. The heat tape MTH uses is pretty much useless. Has anyone else had this problem, what are my possible options?

LED conversion is the best bet. LED's produce little to no heat, last forever, and use less track power (amps) to do the same job.

There's a pretty extensive thread on LED lighting conversions, I'm doing that to all of my passenger cars. Drops the power draw from 1/2A a car to around 20-30ma a car! The bonus is that the lighting is a lot more even and realistic as well!
