Got an MTH item number? Maybe do a "search" on the MTH website for DDA40X (which is the correct real locomotive model designation)?
that is just it, i have searched high and low and can not find it. yes it is by MTH. i just really want one.
There is a guy down in Georgia I believe, Eric Siegel and he runs his own website has product reviews, blogs and an outstanding layout to boot. He has a fantastic page on his site where he details all of his locos and rolling stock in his roster by manufacturer. Here is the page for MTH. Look halfway down. You will see 20-2980-1 Union Pacific DDA40X Diesel Engine #6936 w/ Proto-Sound 2.0 . Eric states the engine was released under the MTH DAP program, which is not stated on MTH's site. If indeed DAP it will be difficult to find. Also don't see a listing for a non-powered version. Good luck!
Here is the MTH page.
the part number is 20-2433-1 or 20-2433-3. if any of you all have one of these you want to get rid of, let me know.
Thanks again everybody

Aghhh. Good catch on the non-powered, which is in a different paint scheme...curious. Might want to post this in the WTB forum, see if you get hits there.
it is in there already and i know somebody has one of these that they would love to get rid of. lol

Do you know for sure that MTH actually produced it? Just because some item is "in the catalog" doesn't mean that the manufacturer received enough reservations/order to actually produce that item. Remember those really nice Union Pacific mountain class steam locomotives, that MTH had in the catalog? Not enough orders, so they never got made!
