MTH Sherman Tank Question

If it helps in the interim, the 2010 v2 catalog says your 20-90551 set has 1/43 Shermans.  The 2018 v1 catalog says they are using 1/50 Solido-made loads.   If you want another set of the same 1/43 scale, check the dealer in the locator tab  www.mthtrains.com/20-90551  if you don't mind a duplicate set.  

Here is a comparison. The Solido I purchased years ago. It has the metal treads. The other is the MTH from the two tank per car set.

MTH is far more detailed. I hope they do not use the other tank now. 

Or, if you want the best, get the Corgi diecast 1/50 models.

The upside:  they are much closer in size than I thought they would be.  The downside the Solido pictured here is sparsely detailed and looks pretty weak compared to the tanks I currently have on flatcars from the previous run.  To order or not to order?  The toughest question to answer in this hobby!

The previous release of MTH flatcars with Sherman tanks used a 1:48 model tank.  I purchased a Union Pacific version.  Later separately I discovered the identical tanks from the toy manufacturer and bought one.  They made two versions.  Since all the MTH flatcars had the "Houston Kid II"  I purchased the other version.
