I'm in the market for another switcher and am interested in the MTH RK PS3 SW1 and SW1500. My main concern is that it be able to make it through back to back 027 switches. My Premier Alco S-2 can do it as well as my RK B-6. The B-6, though, has been gone for months (actually since the first week I bought it new) for mutltiple problems being addressed by MTH. If anyone is familiar with the above two switchers and knows whether they can navigate that switch situation, your input will be appreciated.

Thanks, guys. That's good news.  But I just discovered something interesting. My BB-1s haven't been able make it through in tandem. I was running them a bit before and I put my illuminated magnifier at track level and watched them go through. I spotted a roller contacting the outer rail on the swivel frog (actually the "inside" outer rail if that makes sense). Put a piece of electrical tape the length of that rail. My BBs can now go through the switch pair. Another switcher that can make it.

By the way, Matt.....what happened when you brought that engine with the drawbar problem back to the shop?

Roger,

My dealer refunded my money. From now one, I will go out of my way to avoid wireless drawbar engines...a friend, fellow forum member, and Tracker has a PS2 Imperial PRR USRA 0-6-0 with the "anaconda" that I have agreed to purchase for a reasonable price instead. I've already got the same engine but the boards blew up just outside of warranty and it was more reasonable to buy his same version than repair mine. I'll keep my dead one on display.

Hmm...  Make me a good deal and I'll buy that dead one, I have the board.

Ain't happenin' John! That little sucker was a gift and holds some sentimental value, even if it doesn't run. Until buying the "new" one, my plan was to get it going again.

Well, you can take the board out of the new one.

My RS1s are rated at 0-31, but their fuel tanks hit the switch motors.  It's just too bad that the SWs don't have smoke units.  Trade offs.

Two pairs of rollers are normally good.   I have the older 1500, only one set of rollers.

I have back to back o27 switches and most of my locos will do ok as long as I do not go to slow. Going slow some loose power part way thru the switch.

I only have one switch on a main line so it really does not cause a problem unless I'm switching trains. Since I can reach the area from the operating point it is not a big problem.  Don
