This is the second post related to this switch. This was a new in box switch that had been sitting on a shelf about a year. The first issue was resolved which was a a problem with the mechanism that locked the switch in the straight position. Having got that done I installed it and wired it up this week and now I have an electrical issue. Since MTH does not have an internal circuit diagram its hard to trouble shoot this.

The problem the switch lights the indicator on the switch and the remote control when set to the straight position. Throwing the remote does nothing. If the switch is manually moved to the curved position. Both the light on the switch and the remote go dark.

The switch is being provided direct power at 16 volts. I have done the following trouble shooting:

Swapped the switch motor/indicator with another switch and switch motor is fine on another switch and the one from the other switch has the same issue on the switch with the issue.

Have checked and when the switch is in the straight position the straight terminal shows power. When switched to the curve the curve terminal does not.  Trying to make the switch throw by the auto derail prevention function does nothing though their is continuity between via the switch between the outside rails.

There is continuity between the terminals when the remote is connected and ground so the remote seems fine.

Wiring inside the unit does not show any breaks or burnouts. Traces on the PC board seem to be intact and soldering of wire to it seems ok.

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for any of the switches interior as I assume any of the two position switches are wired the same. Without that its impossible to really check the condition of the wire in the switch and the micro switches which I assume power down the electromagnet when the throw is complete.

Help!
