MTH Traction tires for Lionel 1110 Scout? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi Guys,

My Lionel 1110 Scout has no traction tires, and is now furiously spinning its wheels on my new track when trying to pull just 6 cars.

Many folks have recommended using the MTH brand traction tires for Lionel engines, but when I go on the MTH site, I can only find traction tires listed by either physical dimensions, in mm, or by MTH engine names.

Anybody know what skew number MTH traction tires I should buy for the Scout? Lionel made tons of Scouts, so I am hopeful that this will be an easy question to answer.

A standard Lionel 242-206 tire should fit snugly over the 1110 wheel. Secure it with a drop of CA(this chips off easily to restore the wheel). I use this exact method with the 222-108 diesel tires on my older Williams diesels that lack a traction tire slot.
