Hi Ron:

 

It’s a generator.  A utility-size fossil-fired boiler wouldn't fit on a flat car.  

 

Before I retired I took my generator off of my MTH PRR flat car and took it into work to show our generator engineering department at Siemens Westinghouse.  It had a Westinghouse nameplate on it but they said it was a model of a GE Generator! 

 

And I think you meant 1,250 MW not 1.25+ MW, right?  You’ve said previously that you worked at McGuire and Catawba which were in the 1,200-1,220 MWe range originally before they were uprated.   

 

McGuire has (W) generators and Catawba has GE.  Also Oconee has GE generators but they are smaller.
