MTH Uncataloged 4-6-6-4 UP Challenger #3985 Up for Pre-Order at Nassau Hobby Center!

According to a post from MTH directly on the "other thread", posted by CHARLIENASSAU, the model will NOT have the Wind Wings (smoke deflectors).

So what is the real story with the deflectors. In two posts from the same store we have two different mentions about the deflectors. Very confusing especially since its not on the MTH website we cant see for ourselves.

I have no idea... The MTH Item # is 20-3687-1 it IS up on MTH's website.

The photo above is taken directly from MTH's website when you search for the item #.

The engines description from MTH's website is "4-6-6-4 Challenger Steam Engine w(Smoke Deflectors) w/Proto-Sound 3.0 (Hi-rail Wheels) - Union Pacific (Black) (Oil Tender)"

I will try to get confirmation from MTH today and post my findings...

May I humbly suggest you go and look at the thread posted by CHARLIENISSAU (down below on this page), and you will see the post from MTH specifically stating that the tender will be oil and there will be NO SMOKE LIFTERS (Wind Wings in UP terms)!

OK, I JUST got off of the phone with our MTH REP. He checked everything out and the engine WILL come with smoke deflectors IN THE BOX. Not installed. It IS Black and WILL have an OIL TENDER.

This is all confirmed by MTH.

So the Picture provided is correct IF you install the Smoke Deflectors. If you don't want them don't install them.
