I just purchased one off these new from someone who never ran it. It never had the repair/addition of the smoke tray required for the turbine smoke to come out correctly. Is there a part number for this kit? I searched older threads but didn't come across a part number.

I have a call into them, just seeing if anyone happened to know off hand. Worst case scenario, I'll make my own.
I think that MTH had to make these trays separately after that Veranda production run because the factory made a hash of installing the turbine smoke feature. I remember you had to write in for the part or make your own - as you say it’s basically a tray with a slight angle to the fitting to the smoke unit. So that specific part might not be in MTH’s database but I’d be surprised if they don’t have some left over.
I wondered at the time whether there was a older PS1/2 run of the Veranda (since MTH recycle their UP models regularly) and whether the same or a similar part was available for that. However I have never got the hang of or decent results from MTH’s replacement part online search facility so the question went unanswered.
Interesting enough, I was just working on the Lionel Veranda and it also has a tray on the smoke unit. Since I had to fix the smoke unit, I got to look closely at the tray. 
The Lionel one is diecast, I suspect making it out of brass sheet would be how to make one of these for the MTH unit. This one was designed to bolt directly to the smoke unit.
All's well that ends well. Midge called me back this afternoon and has a kit on the way. She's awesome, what else can I say!
