Hi All,
I'm looking to buy some shrink wrap to fit the wire MTH uses for head lights etc, I noticed wire for the roof lights in the subways are a bit thicker than the DCS wires. I would like to order both.

Their wire sizes are all over the map, so you'll probably need a range of sizes. I keep heatshink around from 1/16" and all the way up to 2.0" for protecting circuit boards.
For general wiring, I recommend 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 5/32, and 3/16 as a starting selection. This will do for most wiring. Some larger diameter will be useful for compound connections where a bunch of wires come together.
Something like this would probably be a good first step, then you can see what sizes you actually end up using the most and buy that in bulk.
Home Depot has a nice assortment kit to get you started.
Most any local electrical supply house will sell you shrink wrap tubing in 4' lengths for +/- $2.00 per length. Price varies slightly as to size.
Thanks guys

625pcs Heat Shrink Tubing Kit
After some time you'll figure out what you use the most and end up with stacks like this.
That second pic looks like my works part room. I have access to lots at work, sadly all to large for most train work
I just shop around for a cheap price on 100 feet of the size I need, typically only a few bucks a reel. I go through it pretty fast, so I like to have plenty on hand. The bottom is the 2" stuff that I use to protect boards like the Super-Chuffer.
