I am looking at buying an used MTH Z-400 and I hear the some of the older ones are non repairable. How can I tell a repairable one from a non repairable one . Or is this a mith and they all can be repaired. I am referring to the electronics onside.

Look for the tag on the back with the serial number. The manufacturing series date is built into the s/n. Post the s/n and we can tell you. Also, AFAIK, all Z4Ks are repairable. Price depends on what is wrong.

The oldest Z4000's were made in Korea,then they were made for a while in China. The latest models are made in Thailand. I had loose handle issues with the 1st gen. Korean made versions and sold them. All four of my present Z4000's were purchased 2015-17 and are trouble free.
The serial number is 100335478.
