The club I belong to has two MTH Z-4000's.  We were testing the wiring on our modular layout.  We have three tracks, all independent but they are wired with a common ground.  When I checked the phasing ( I connected the commons, set the voltage to the same reading, 14 v., and checked for a spark)  I found the transformers were out of phase (Got a whale of a spark!).  Of course the transformers have polarized plugs so I couldn't just reverse one of the plugs.  So I took off one of the Z-4000's and replaced it with an MRC AH101.  I phased it properly and everything ran fine at our display today.

Question: Has anyone else seen this?  I would have thought with polarized plugs they would all be wired the same internally.  Any suggestions for an easy fix?  Other than cutting off the plug?

Thanks for your help.
