I have two Williams U33's, both powered (conventional).  I'm thinking of running them as a MU set. One of the engines runs somewhat faster than the other.  I've put an eight car train directly behind the faster unit which slows it down to almost the same speed as the (slower U33 unit).

Question: If I have the slower U33 as the lead engine and the faster U33, with the eight car train directly behind it, have I created a "safe" MU situation for the can motors? Logically it would seem so, but I'm no electronics "guru".

Thanks for info.

I 'MU' (no rope here) multiple Williams units with no issues. I have never really checked to see if they run the exact same speed. I have a F-3 set with the A and B both powered they run fine....same with a set of SD-45's.  U-33 are the same as SD-45 under the skin. Only issue is keeping them in sync.....which is no big deal.
