Multiple Season Transitions

I've often heard of people modeling more than one season on their layouts, but I'm having a hard time finding pics. Especially of the transitions. I currently have a 4×8 and I'm toying with the idea of having a winter town scene with a small siding or two on one half and a summer industrial yard on the other half (lengthwise).

I thought about a backdrop partition through the center of the table lengthwise or a skinny mountain of some sort with a small tunnel on each end? Maybe this idea is too big for a 4×8? I'll be using O-27 tubular track.

Ideas and pics are appreciated.
