Hi John - Congratulation on the OGR Article. “Along the O Gauge Glacier Line”.  Run 286.  I do remember riding in those 1937 Red Jammer open-top buses.

My OGR Magazine came today, Photo below is from John’s article page 60, I would recommend this article. Check it out pages 57 to 64. Nice job with the System Map and layout drawing.

I did like this article, with the references to historic sites, and that the layout is point-to-point.  I think I just now guessed that the "MP" discovered by J.F. Stevens is Marias Pass.  Every time I've tried to drive Going-To-The-Sun Highway, the pass has been closed by snow, so no luck there yet. First I've heard mention of Lewis and Clark and a firefight.  I missed that site, too.

John,

I have missed seeing any posts on the Glacier Line for a while.  I was certainly happy to see your article in OGR!!   Every bit of the work looks great!!  Congratulations to you and your crew!!  Thank you OGR for publishing John's article!!

Dear Mark, thank you!

If you would like to see all the pictures (God Help You!) please look on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glaci...cierline?pnref=story

There are over 900 some odd pictures and counting and I frequently update the happenings on our Line via Facebook.  It's really funny because the people I think would care the least often surprise me by saying: "I haven't seen you post anything for a while."  That occurs in non-model railroad other areas of life: band, church or dance club.

Anyway, there are more than enough pictures on there to put you to sleep on any restless night.

I still enjoy looking at the very first photos that I took in June of 2011.  It just makes me tired thinking about what if we had to do all of this over again?  I really appreciate and enjoy all the work that has been done on this layout.  I just can't believe that it's in my basement!  This is a childhood dream come true.

Thanks again Mark!

John,

Thank you so much for the Facebook link!  I will definitely check it out!  I think I know what you mean about who comments.  I will post a like or a photo, and someone from high school who I haven't seen in over 40 years will comment favorably.

Yes, the childhood dream!  I have liked trains as long as I can remember.  I will finally get a whole room for a layout when our last daughter get married in September.  I may have collected enough that when I pull it all in from around the house and garage I won't have room to build!  LOL

Is there any place on this forum that gives a good guide to writing an article for the magazine?

Someone has been really pushing me to write something on my own layout and I'm starting to think about it. If I submitted it anywhere, I think I'd rather go to this magazine first...

Hi Lee - I wrote an article for run 278 June / July 2015 Page 48 - 53 "Multi Levels in the Man Cave."

Send an email to Editor-inChief / O Gauge Railroading / editor@ogaugerr.com / He will email you back their "Style Sheet"  This will tell you all about the style for copy and photos. Allan has a strong back ground in journalism. Yes: I have read a lot of your posts and seen your photos.  You have a lot to pick from for a contribution for the magazine.

Thanks very much, Gary, both for the info and also for the kind words!

John, a local hobby shop carries the magazine, and I'll be checking out your article when they get this issue! Sorry if it looked like I was derailing your thread...
