During a random conversation with my sister the other day she asks why I never wanted any of the pictures from when dad met the owner of Lionel? I sat there in shock! WHAT?!?!?!?! In the mid/late 80's my dad had some kind of filter or HVAC business tie with Richard Kughn. Not directly, but I recall he tried to make it a point to be more direct, maybe even stalk, after Mr. Kughn bought Lionel. My dad couldnt meet him, so my mom got involved. Mom went direct to Mr Kughn and arranged a tour of Carrail (sp?) and the Mt. Clements, MI plant. I remember the factory pictures included lots and lots of baby madison diner cars being made the day my dad went. Heres the letter Mr Kughn sent to my mom, and the pics my youngest sister found. My oldest sister claims she has the factory pics, and shes going to be eating turkey in the garage this year if she shows up here without pictures in hand! Just thought I'd share.

"2100 ... was stored in the former Western Maryland Hagerstown, Maryland, roundhouse until 1988, when it was purchased by the then owner of Lionel Trains, Richard Kughn and restored to operating condition."
I remember seeing the what I think was the 2100 under tarps in Hagerstown and when I inquired about it I was told ir was owned by Mr. Kughn. Shortly after I saw it they moved it to where I did not at the time. It looked restored at the time.
