My dog Elly seems to like my train I set up in the living room this week. The train is an MTH Premier GP38-2 pulling an MTH Premier Southern Ry 40ft boxcar set with an Atlas caboose. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g145_xABtKY&feature=youtu.be

Can't wait until I get my set up and running as I know my one beagle will be barking non stop, the older beagle just watches and sits by me. I can't wait to see what the mini-dachshund does!
NICE! I thought I was the only one who ran Alaska and Southern equipment together. When I saw the title of this thread "My dog likes O gauge trains" my first thought was "What a great title for a country song".
I guess, dogs luv toy trains, too!

Ya just know the dog wants a ride on that train.
My Lady loves the "big" stuff also. She always sleeps while I run my O gauge trains.

SouthernMike most of my stuff is Southern and Interstate, but I always liked these Alaska colors. Reminds me of the Dale Earnhardt Wrangler race cars of the 1980s and I used to collect nascar diecast.
Yeah, she looks very interested in those trains. I wouldn't leave the hand held remote laying around anywhere she could get it. That is unless you call her from work and tell her to have the trains running when you get home.

Not by a long shot! I have about 25 or so Alaska RR locomotives and perhaps a dozen or more Southern Rwy. locomotives in addition to some 12 U.S. Army Transportation Corps engines.
The Southern equipment (primarily steam) doesn't see a whole lot of running time nowadays, but I keep it as part of the mix just because it is primarily steam and most of my Alaska and Army motive power is diesel. Besides, I like Southern green!
As for my pooch: She really couldn't care less about the trains. Even back when I had a floor layout filling one room, she never bothered a single thing and would carefully walk over any parked trains to avoid messing with them. She doesn't dislike them; she just doesn't show much instinct for being a model railroader.
Here are those Southern boxcars with a Southern diesel and caboose, the dog is getting tired of the little oval I guess.lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwQV9Lu4TuE&feature=youtu.be
