Amid all the talk of modern rolling stock etc. I thought I'd throw this in even though there may be few who appreciate it. I got this several years ago and proceeded to restore it to its original glory. Today it was 75 degrees outside here in the Mid-Hudson valley of New York State so I knew I wouldn't have any trouble running this in the unheated garage. It always runs flawlessly.

Thanks for sharing. I find dealer displays fascinating.
Very nice!
The 351 is a very nice factory display layout. Thanks for posting the video of yours.
I've been reading about dealer displays and have a new found interest. Very nice job you've done on yours.

There is one substitution on mine that differs from the catalog other than engines or rolling stock. The factory substituted an oil drum loader for the animated station shown at the above link. I know it was factory because each accessory position has a handwritten note stapled to the layout indicating which accessory was to be placed at the appropriate location. Also, even though a Santa Fe passenger train is shown, the list of included items mentions the Rocket set. Go figure.
nice to see other brands displays, thanks, its great
Nice. I don't see American flyer dealer stuff as much and have yet to reproduce any (although I have some graphic scans for some). Good job saving it!
A few minutes ago I finished wiring a controller to a 762 Two in One whistle.
God timing!
GOOD!! timing
Beautiful layout. The sight of the green light reflecting off the Rocket passenger set as it passes brings back fond memories.
Do you know the history of your display?

Very Little since it came to me. I won it in an auction in 2010. It had some really beat up engines and rolling stock which I sold off at train shows. I already had the Rocket set but the axle holes were worn so I retrofitted NOS Flyonel motor chassis to the powered unit so there wouldn't be any issues in the way it ran up the trestle. I acquired the 21084 Pacific with cars and the Truscott Frontiersman set and used them on the other loops. It was missing some original accessories which I either had or acquired. It had some non-original accessories and horrendous wiring for same which I removed. The only non-Gilbert accessory currently is the Flyonel Sam the Semaphore Man which operates more reliably than a Gilbert. I got the 30B transformer for $25 at the Poughkeepsie Train Show which had a cracked case around the throttle controls that I repaired with JB Weld. Truth be known, I need to sell it so I can build a hi-rail layout in that space.
Are those All Aboard panels I see in the background? Do you have enough for a setup?

Is the scenery texture original? Looks like dyed sawdust, which was typical of the period. What are the sides of the mountain constructed of?

Nice! I have a soft spot for those since that was my entry to AF. I have been buying NOS panels but don't have enough yet for a layout.
