I had one last journey in 2019 and that was to see 611 at the Strasburg Railroad. My two favorite railroad are the N&W and Pennsy, so this was a great chance to see a lot of both. On the drive up, I crossed over a bridge and saw smoke. I was hoping that it would be 1702 from the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. Not a planned stop but really glad that it happened! My first planned stop was at Abingdon to see the N&W 4-8-0. A really nice display that is not very far off the highway.
great pics thanks for sharing
From the VMT, I headed up into to Pennsylvania. My first stop was Gettysburg and then on to Strasburg. Along the way, I saw the Western Maryland 4-6-2 Hagerstown, MD. (I had to take the picture from under a fence) Later on, I spotted some neat Pennsylvania cabin cars (cabooses) along other Pennsylvania Railroad stuff.

More from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. They are starting to work on the Pennsy engines for the yet to be built roundhouse. From talking to someone on staff, it appears that the engine will be given a very minimal restoration. The sand domes will not be put back on, not will the some of the other missing items.

What an adventure you've had the last 18 months!
Thank you for sharing and when you have a chance, come up to Dearborn, Michigan (Detroit suburb) and see some the oldest running engines in the country. You'll also see the C&O Allegheny 1601, though stagnate in the museum.
