My MTH NS SD70Ace Premier PS 3.0

Hi all

Just got my ns sd70ace a few days ago and I must say what a beautiful train. The detail is what you would expect from a premier set. The paint job mint. I also would like to thank Ralph and Irene from Trains 'n Things in NJ. Absolutely very nice people to do deal with. They gave me a great deal. I am happy I can help support a LHS in my state. I plan on also getting the non powered version as well to pair them up with. i can only imagine what they will look like together. I may have a hard time saving money this year since I plan on getting the other paint scheme for NS coming this month in that orange yellow looks awesome. Also add to that the ES44AC BNSF. Here are some pics I took today of the NS black scheme.

I am looking forward to these as well. The 2012 catalog has the Premier line running on O31 but 2013 catalog says O42. Which is it?

Looks great! I have the RK version, but I love the black NS trains. I am also looking to get some non-powered and different paint NS in the future.

I also purchased this engine ,it is one beautiful ACE ... unfortunately the smoke unit on mine fizzled and its back at MTH..

Very nice and thanks for sharing! Norfolk Southern goes AC. The fuel tanks on these models look much nicer than the fuel tanks on the Lionel SD80MACs that hang high above the rails. There literally seems nothing left for improvement on this model.

Depends on the engine. Any Premier engine with four wheel trucks (GPs etc.) will run O31. Engines with six wheel trucks need O42.

I was thinking that way too, however, the Premier SD70ACe in the 2012 v2 has 6 wheel trucks and lists that they operate on O31 (page 66). On page 58 of the 2013 v1 catalog it states O42. I really love these locos but my layout is O31.

Funny you should state that. The mth premier box of the my sd70ace states that it can operate on O36 curves. But the website states O42? Maybe recommended curve is O42 while the minimum is O36. I have not tried it on my smaller loop layout. But I will try this weekend and let you know.

BTW I was able to find a dealer with the dummy. Now I have the pair. I will post pics as soon as receive the dummy engine.
