Here is a video of my New & IMPROVED Marx, Hafner & Wyandotte Portable/Storable Toy Train Layout. A feature article on how I built the layout appeared in the December 2013 issue of OGR Magazine.

Nice changes! Bit more space than before!
My question is... What do you do with the buildings and figures when it's time to put it away or move it?
Pure fun!

Love it. I'll have to look up the OGR article later.

All the buildings, autos, trees, people etc. go into one plastic storage container. All the trains can stay on their shelves when the layout is folded up. The layout has a handle on top and I'm still strong enough to lift it on and off the table. Then the layout (only about 4" deep) and container easily store in a closet.
Very nice, as was its previous iteration. Compact, nice and neat...what's not to like! Nice to see you back here again...

He has done a few forum threads here focusing on his "early" portable version too. Worth the search
Very inspiring fun as usual David

Thanks for sharing. Looks like your old Marx fold up 3 rail layout has been converted to 2 rail windup. Good to see that you are settled in your new home, have missed your postings over the last couple of years. Look forward to seeing more of your new layout with the postwar Lionel and Marx trains.
Take Care

Oops! I made a typo. The article was in Dec 2013 OGR. I made the correction to my original posting.
Very clever!
Love it! Thanks for sharing,
