I got this from an OGR Forum sponsor.....who I was going to praise but will hold off after something went wrong and I'll see if they fix it as I want......ANY WAY......

If you have seen my recent posts you know I am on a Rock Island kick.  The different schemes, great colors and different equipment are fascinating to me. I bought this to repaint as a 'bankruptcy blue' THE ROCK scheme. This would complete my RI collection. But when I pulled it out of the box.....it looked so good I am having a hard time stripping it!!!

IC is another railroad that really never crossed my radar.....but this WbB unit is so sharp!!

Anyone else buy something for one purpose but upon arrival it all changes?!?!?!?!?

Oh yes! MY B&O "shark-infested" Capitol Limited: I'd bought it all intending to repaint it into SP Daylight, but I could not bring myself to do that, it was so handsome.

BTW - yours is a very handsome loco, as is, I agree.

KEEP IT. The appeal of a black diesel with simple "decoration" is undeniable; I am certainly no real fan of the IC (my GM&O background ensures that), but that Geep is striking as is.

Not to sound as if money is meaningless, but why not enjoy your black loco and be on

the lookout for another Geep in a paint scheme that you are certain you don't care for?

WBB Geeps are not pricey nor hard to find.

I have a pair of older Weaver E8's in the UP scheme that are due to become long,

black Conrail (maybe PC) units.

AMCDave - you are getting lots of advice one way and the other.  No doubt you'll do what you want most.

One thing to consider though to reinforce the "leave it alone" school: You probably have lots of projects in front of you, other things you want to do and know you won't get to soon/as soon as . . .  decide not to do this repaint and you can go on to them. . .

In my case, with those Sharks/Captiol Limited, the opportunity to sweep an entire and rather lengthy re-painting project off the list, so to speak,  tipped decisively what was otherwise a fairly even balance on my part.   the fact that I also have this lovely loco - and something a bit different than I would normally have done, is a tiny added bonus, too.
