Hi,

I went rummaging around at my LHS shop yesterday and I picked up a Lionel 150 engine and 5 "600" cars and a couple of other pieces for $70.  I was able to get the cars all cleaned up today, even though a couple have some heavy play wear and paint loss.  The engine will be a repaint as the top and ends are bare metal now.  When I separated the shell from the engine the casing for the three wires is very brittle and breaking off.  The engine runs great and the light was working when I tested it out.  As I do not have a wheel puller and have not learned how to remove and replace the wheels, I will let the pros handle the replacement of the brittle wiring and give it a good cleanout and lube.

Is there a good source for the New York Central lines and "150" decals available out on the market?

I planned to keep to the 1930's with my pre-war Lionel, but I saw that set in the box flat just sitting there and it looked like it needed a home.

These pieces were originally stamped by Lionel.

While the decals you want may be available, nothing beats the correct rubber stamps from Joe Mania at JLM Trains (jlmtrains.com). In addition to the stamps he also has available instructions, the correct ink and a kit which contains all the "tools" you will need to do a proper job of authentically stamping these items.
