I ventured across town earlier today to attend my second train show of the season (not to mention in well over a year, as well). This one was held on the west side of Youngstown, not far from what long ago was my boyhood home. I arrived some 20 minutes before the announced opening, but because of the cold weather, they had opened the doors early. The parking lot was jam-packed, as was the venue itself, which was not nearly as spacious as the Canfield Fairgrounds venue that I went to several weeks ago. They even had arrows on the floor this time because the aisles were quite narrow in some places. I forgot to ask the show's promoter (you'll see him in one photo being interviewed for local TV) how many tables there were, but I guess the number would be around 150 or so. I browsed around for an hour or so; bought a new book on U.S. Steel's Ohio Works and affiliated railroads; consumed a couple of chili dogs; and then headed home to work on OGR Run 318, our June/July issue. It's good to see our fellow hobbyists getting out and about these days! I have been fully vaccinated as of a couple of weeks ago or so, and hope most all of you have done so, too.

Awesome Awesome Awesome - Allan thank you for sharing. NETCA has their first Spring Meet, outside slated for next Sunday. I can't wait. I will feel better about an indoor meet after my second shot in two weeks. Stay well everyone - it is getting better and we will be celebrating our hobby together again in the near future.

Thank you for posting this Allan! I have been going through extended train show and York withdrawal symptoms and medicating with Scotch. It is good to see what is hopefully the beginning of the return to what was "normal".

There is a smallish local show near me tomorrow. I went to two antiques shows today, one indoor and one outdoor, but nothing of interest train-wise. Next week is Kutztown, so that should be pretty good. It is nice to have some tables to browse.
I got the single shot vaccine a couple of weeks ago, so I am good to go.
SUPER!!! GREAT!!! FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks for Sharing! It's really nice t see folks out and about.
Vaccinated 2/19/21

Never thought I'd miss that...
Thank you Allan.
My wife and I were talking about this yesterday. We get our second shots next Sunday. We're probably still going to stay safe for the summer but hopefully may return to normal in the Fall. I need to check those NETCA meet dates.
Allan, your photos stirred my blood. It seems like an eternity since I was at a train show. Well, that will all end next weekend because if the fates allow it I will be headed for Kutztown, Pa. on 3/27/21. Fully vaccinated and rarin' to go.

Ditto...but take out Scotch, insert Rum.
Alan, Thank You For sharing this train show. It gives one hope that the shows will start again in other parts of the country. Looks like folks kept their distance and masked up. Your posting gives us hope

excellent news! Looking forward to train shows again. Have had two vaccine shots and am keen to get going!

Thanks for that! It has been a full year and a half since my last train show. I don't mind buying from internet sellers that advertise here plus eBay, but nothing beats a live show.
