No!  With the natural order of things to drift towards the chaotic, keeping it subtle was not as much fun as dirtying them up!

And, believe it or not, it took longer to gently add subtle weathering than it was to slather on the mud and gunk.

Can you even see the 14 different powders used? Not to mention the rust and oily black highlights (dry brushed)...  Worst part? I can think of at least two more colors I need!

Here's another hint... don't use either a foam paintbrush or piece of magic eraser.  The magic eraser disintegrated in my hand and the foam brush left streaks.  I'm going to Ulta on lunch to grab some foam applicators to blend the colors.

First - the boxcar looks quite nice; massive weathering is often accurate, of course,

but with our models, Less is usually More, unless you're going for a specific car

or loco of which you have photos. I did not see your "first" effort, that I recall, but

this looks quite nice.

Second - if you want to part with that gorgeous Atlas F-2 with my favorite NYC

diesel scheme (I'm a "Central Fan" too), let me know...yeah, right, like you'd do

that. When that loco came out, so did a Gulf, Mobile & Ohio version, and I could not

make up my mind, and I let it slide...and I would up with neither. Haven't found

either at a price I could accept - when I see them at all.

Gonna weather it...?

I've been keeping my eyes open for one for years, and just got it!  no way I'm gonna part with it now, sorry to say!  it was "nearly new", and it perfect shape (looks test run only) and I will say that I got it on DASH for ~$250.  They are hard to come by these days!

Thanks,

- Mario
