Chris, I tried the fine grit.

Scraps, I haven't looked at LEDs too much until the R20 floods went on sale. I like what I've tried so far. I still think halogens look the best to the naked eye, and digital cameras don't seem to mind them too much. I have seen some nice high end LED lighting here and there but the price is still too high yet.

Kevin, this is an AMW kit, 4 stalls with brick front extensions. I bought his lighting kit and the brass hinges. I should order the brass ladders and the heating coils for the interior walls come to think of it. I am going to paint the interior white with a black base, just like it shows on his website. Doors, windows, and exterior wood will be red.

Dave, those light towers are Rail Kings, spray bombed black, then lightly weathered with Grimy Black. They will be wired up eventually. I have one or two more that may get installed somewhere in this scene.

Norm,

These are great pictures. I get my RH from AMW at York in a few weeks. I am looking forward to getting it and these pictures make my day. I purchased all the accessories, lighting, steam pipes, see through roof on 2 stalls to you can see inside. I also got the smoke stacks.

Mind if I ask how much time you have into building and assembly?

Kevin

Thanks Patrick! Kevin, I got the kit about a month ago but I haven't kept track of the time into it. I worked on it each night about 1-3 hours at least, and threw at least three full weekends into it. I have a ton of boring progress shots I never posted. As for the rest of the yard structures, I gave a run-down on their origins in the first post.

Here's  what it looks like as of last night with the doors installed:

I am on the road for a few days but will do the final weathering this weekend and then it can permanently installed on the layout.

Well it is finally installed into the layout. I set things up so I could transport it out of the shop and then slide it up to the TT connecting tracks once it was up on the layout. I got to run a few engines in and out of it before doing the final ground covering. Next thing is to wire the lighting controls. The fun part will happen after that when I get to do the detailing. I will then unbox a bunch of my engines that haven't seen a layout since the fall of 2012.
