ZW-l, about 5 years old, but not used a lot has stopped working except for on/off light and the lights behind the LIONEL below the on/off and these flicker, which just keep on going. Cannot run anything and no electricity on the backside. Any ideas ?

Did you program it with a Legacy remote or do you even have a Legacy remote?
did you check the circuit breakers on the transformer ouput's are tripped. try resetting them.

To be clear is the meter back lights flickering or the Lionel light below the on/off switch flickering?
It was used with legacy remote version 1.6. Meter lights on without flickering. Only LIONEl lights flicker. Circuit breakers do not move up or down. Thanks.
I believe there is something in the manual about the transformer doing this but I don't remember what it says. I think it's something about not getting any communication from the Legacy base or a weak signal.
Yes the Lionel light acts like a locomotive headlamp. Insure you power the legacy base on first then turn on the transformer. Also make sure the base is connected to transformer at the separate U terminal. If this does not work I’d switch the transformer back to cov. And try to run a command engine. If it try’s to run conventionally then something is going on with the base. If a command engine runs in command then the antenna/receiver board inside the transformer is messed up.

I just read the manual for the one's I have. The Lionel light will flicker if the Legacy or TMCC signal is weak or absent.
I am making progress, just a few things to check , before I can say it is back to normal. Will let every know, hopefully tomorrow. Thanks.
I have been doing too many other things to get back to the forum, but the suggestion about turning the Legacy base on first appears to solve the ZW-L problem, thanks a lot everyone.
