In the TCA Exchange, for over a year now, a gentlemen near Philadelphia has been advertising this train: A Williams Rare Nickel Capital Limited Standard Gauge (set), C-9, no box, $895. I cannot find any evidence of such a set made by Williams, having gone through my large collection of Williams advertising material, the Greenberg Williams Book, Not Your Dad's Standard Gauge book, etc. I called the man once, very elderly fellow, asked for a possible photo to send by email (no email), by phone (nope, no phone with a camera), a friend with a phone (nope). He was completely uncooperative. Claims only 3 sets were made in nickel.
Is this a gem waiting to be discovered? It is advertised in FOR SALE - Williams - 41. Its in every issue of the HQ News. Maybe some an hour's drive wants to take a chance to see it? Too far for me. A mystery to be solved?
