I won this light off of e bay acouple of weeks ago. Looked to me like a bacis Marx 408 missing the base. I had gotten several Marx bases in a junk box from a show, and I remembered one the same color as this light. When I got the light in the mail, it wasn't the Marx light, but I got the correct one later. I dug out the Marx base I had, and then I relized there were no electrial connections. It has a small slide, with a contact. The light housing has a matching contact, with a spring. Could this have been a battery operated version? I hooked up test wires, and the light works.

this is the light that came instead of the Marx light. It is a darker green, same size as a Marx 408, and has a screw base on the end of the cord. The lamp bases are a marbled Bakelight? The only markings are on the bottom of the base, PAT.APP'D FOR
there are four holes in the base, one in each corner.
Thanks!

Mine are older ones like yours, with the screw base on the end of the cords. Scary. Pre-war, I think. The ones in the link are a newer version.
Don't know about the one with the battery case.
thanks hojack! mine's missing the ring, which must be why mine has the wire holding the two sections together. and the ones in the link look like they only have two holes in the base where mine have four. Thanks again! I wouls imagine teens-early '20s with the screw base?
