Good evening everyone.

I just returned home after being away for 3 weeks. This morning I ran both trains on my set without problem.

about noon on I opened the box with my new premier N&W 612 J steam engine. I did the normal prep and placed it on the track. I even followed the warning about the spring wire to keep the drawbar in place.

long story short... The engine will not pull a train set through a curve. Curves are 72 inch diameter. The manual calls for 54 inch or wider. The engine just sits there and spins its wheels. Much like some you-tube videos of the real thing I have seen!

A second issue has has come up. While trying yo run the J, the f7 diesel set will come to life while sitting on a siding on the same track, any ideas why this happens? Software in the handheld is 4.20. No commands were sent to start the engine, handset was sitting on the work bench at the time it started

any guidance you can provide will be appreciated.

I forgot, I cleaned the track too. There was no effect.

if this cannot be corrected it will be returned.

regards,

Bill

Is a front or rear pilot miss adjusted such that the drive wheels are raised slightly?  Is a pickup roller bent up and not collapsing on the spring and this is raising drive wheels up of track?

Is a tender truck bound such that the tender wheels are locking between rails and acting as a drag on the engine?  Same with any connected cars.   G

As for the F unit coming to life while attempting to run the J Both may have the same ID number. Take one off the track and edit it's address to another ID. If you need a hand how come on back.

The J....Are the rollers lifting the engine up a bit...  Or are  the front pony trucks in the correct position . I think I might look at them upside down  at the work bench. good luck.
