The Station will will be closing at 3 pm today Oct. 10th and remain closed until Thursday, Oct. 12th at 9 am. due to air quality concerns caused by the active fires in the surrounding areas. In addition, the Train itself will not be operating tours or dining journeys through Thursday, October 12th. The health and safety of our staff and guests is our utmost concern.
I guess it doesnt help that the train hit a stretch lemo 2 days ago either.
Oh WOW! A Freight train? An Rs-11 with a beacon! Cool!

Don't think that is a "freight train". I believe that "boxcar" looking car behind the ALCO unit, is the power car for the Napa Valley Wine Train passenger consist.

Well .... did that limo just jump out in front of the train like a rabbit? I don't think so. More likely it got hung up on the high embankment and the train came along afterwards.
Do they provide a "Smoking Lounge Car" on trains powered by the ALCO?
Does that "X" sign under the stop sign relate to the fact that longer wheelbase vehicles may bottom out on the grade crossing? I can't read what it says there. I also suppose it could be just a "private crossing" sign.

First, that's the best thing to happen to those stupid stretch limos.
Second, when did they get that ex-N&W RS-11?

Here's the latest from the Wine Train, published a few minutes ago:
As with any crisis, our thoughts are with residents in the affected areas and the first responders who bravely rush into danger to protect life and property. We are incredibly grateful for their work.
The health and safety of our guests and employees is always our utmost concern. Air quality is currently very poor in our area because the fires around the Napa-Sonoma area. In addition, some of our wineries and partners have limited services. Considering this, the Napa Valley Wine Train station is closed and all tours and journeys are canceled through Sunday, October 15th. We are accepting reservations online as well as directly by calling 800-427-4124 or email reservations@winetrain.com. We will continue to update our site with the status of our business hours or changes in the schedules.
Many of you ask: “how can we help”?
The best answer is to “come to visit us, our neighbors, our valley…” Napa Valley and so many who live and work here depend on tourism. Some of our landscape might look different for awhile but not our passion or our hospitality. We can't wait to welcome you back! Thank you for your support and help us be #NapaStrong!
