Question, the AUX tenders on page 68 of the catalog, there is no photo of 6-82395 or statement about it on that page but the letter in the front says the AUX tenders are back in yellow, but on your webpage you say it's black.  So, is it black or yellow?  I'd prefer a black one, aka really really really want a black one, but it's not a deal breaker.

And how can I get a physical copy of the catalog?

sinclair,

According to Charlie, the UN-pictured  AUX Tender is a Black version. He was in direct contact with Lionel when they were trying to finalize which AUX tenders to put out.

Physical copies of the catalog are not out yet, Lionel should be shipping them to dealers, etc, in the next few weeks.

That would be awesome, to get a black one.  I'll have to take your word on it.  When the catalogs get to you, will you be shipping them out to those that place orders?  And what is the projected delivery of the reefer 3 pack?  Those will give me 9 reefers to put behind the BB.

Terrence,

The gantry crane, Icing Station and a few others are in the catalog as a 2015 preview. They are not yet available for order and were not included on the order forms for this catalog. That is why they are not in the Pre-Order section of our website...

Charlie,

Before I order a GP30 can you find out if lionel will fix the back step problem that occurred in the last run. (SP , ATSF & IC)

Also the new run of PFE reefers have different doors than the last two sets even though lionel acts like they are to go with the two prior sets. Any way to check if that's right?

Thanks

Can anyone else verify a black version... I have tried. The only answer I have gotten from dealers and Lionel is they will all be yellow. Which is funny because that really does not match the Big Boy they are making as it will be the coal fired WWII era version. Which I ordered and I love don't get me wrong. I have the old 6-11226 Legacy version that is black, it goes well with my vision line Coal fired Challenger. It has a road number of 907853, which from what I can tell is still black and sitting in the Illinois Railway Museum with GTEL 18. This same road number in this catalog is yellow? Anyhow, I would love it if road number 907856 would be black but this is the only place that I have seen evidence that it will be black. I hate to muddy the waters but I need assurance as yellow will just not work for me.

I want black as well, so I took a chance and ordered it.  But if it turns out to be yellow instead I'll have to wait until I put it behind my BB and then decide if I'll live with it or sell it off.  Either way I know I've got one coming.  I thought about finding an older one that was black, but then it wouldn't be Legacy like the new one.

Wow... I really hate to spoil your fun on this post but Lionel made two Union Pacific water tenders in Black. The first was PN 6-38007 and was TMCC Control most recent catalog in Vol 1 of the 2001 catalog. The second, I personally own (as stated in my previous post), was PN 6-11226 and was Legacy Control most recent catalog Vol 2 2010. As there is not much to the control of the tender I'm not sure what you really would be missing accept for maybe lash ups (which I never do) and sound quality. Maybe someone else can answer that. I do not claim to be an expert. Mine is essentially a boxcar that looks pretty. But I do know you can in fact buy a Legacy Union Pacific water tender in black. You will pay a pretty penny as Black with Legacy control is the most difficult to find, which makes its disappearance from the roster even more amazing. I'm thinking of buying yellow and repainting black. It may be cheaper than trying to find another 6-11226. I would have to renumber anyways.
