Seen this on other vids from East Penn meets. I suspect it's because of iffy connection to the overhead wire. Run fast so you coast past the dead spots.
read somewhere (maybe on OGR) that there is a locksmith's liquid graphite that does the trick of maintaining connectivity. A little dab will do it.
Indiana and Ohio were once widely served by interurbans, even with connections through to the other state. (others states' lines and interstate connections probably were common) How fast did some of those interurbans run, since they were competing with railroads (and automobiles) at their peak period? You could ride all over both states, but I have heard it would take a while.
