Loved to see the photos (and video) of the NTD events in Chicago and Grand Central. But even here in Arizona we have two NTD events. One in the Phoenix area and one here in Northern Arizona at the Grand Canyon Railway's depot in Williams. Here are some shots from our event.
The Grand Canyon Model Railroaders bring their traveling layout.
We had local antique tractor and automobile folks with displays. The cars were right on the platform and you can see some of the GCR's locos on display in the background. They are positioned nose to nose for a reenactment of the Golden Spike Ceremony that we did.
A group of us in the Prescott area have built portable 4x8 layouts to take to events such as NTD. This is my Marx themed layout.
The Winslow Harvey Girls Association brings their display of Santa Fe china and sets up in the Max Bigert observation car (with my son and grandkids!).
The GCR offers a tour of their locomotive shop
And the GCR runs an hourly train with a 45 minute ride that people could take for all of $15. Here it is leaving the locomotive shop and passing under the BNSF main line.
