Not sure if this is the right section, please let me know if there is a better place.

I attended the Neuse River Valley Model Railroad Club show at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh today.  The show was good, however the utterly massive Sippin' and Switching HO modular layout was both inspiring and frustrating.  Frustrating, because the only O gauge layouts in attendance were small and either not scenic-d or poorly detailed.

Is there any interest out there in a hi-rail or 3 rail scale o gauge modular club in the triangle area or greater North Carolina?  Is there one out there that I'm just missing?

There's clearly O-gauge interest in the area, at least 30-40% of the swap meet was orange and blue boxes.

I am sure you saw the folks from Greenville who were there with their modular layout.  They, along with I think 5 other groups, set up a large modular layout in the Orange Hall at the most recent York meet.

I can’t speak for the Greenville guys but I believe they would be more than happy to include additional modules in their display.

Of course how the display is going to look will depend upon how well individuals scenic their own modules.  As you recall some of the Sipping and Switching modules were highly detailed and others were simply tracks on a board.

I encourage you to build your own module to be included in a future display!

We do several shows every year, Asheville, Easley, SC, Hickory Metro Center, Hickory American Legion Fair (week long) and the fall show at York in 2022. As well as a few small shows for Christmas. We are based out of Newton at the Newton Depot and Model Railroad Center. Great bunch of guy in the club, we have members as far away as Boone.
